In the holidays we went to London, to the Southbank.
I found this statue of Lawrence Olivier the famous actor to read my book to!
Yesterday we went to JBR Walk in Dubai, there are lots of nice shops and a big beach.
On the beach we saw a play park, an outside gym, the Dubai Eye building (which will be the same as the London Eye) and a really big sand sculpture. We normally see a camel doing rides but it wasn’t there.
Last night we ate in a Thai restaurant and there was a lady dressed up very pretty doing Thai dancing, she was also playing a musical instrument called a khim, which is from Thailand.
The lady used two sticks made of bamboo to play the Khim which made a nice sound. It was made of wood and trapezoidal in shape, there were lots of metal strings in groups of 3.
Hello Rabbits class
I am having a lovely time here in Dubai. On Tuesday we went to Abu Dhabi to see one of daddy’s friends, we had a drink at Yas Marina where the Formula 1 circuit is then went to a shopping mall and went up a big viewing tower and had lunch.
Today we went to see a Mosque, a mosque is a sort of church for the people in Dubai. We couldn’t go inside but we did look round the outside. You are not allowed to wear shoes in the mosque and you have to cover your shoulders. The building isn’t old like Berkley church and there is no stained class and you sit on the floor. It is very clean and new. The men and lady’s have to say their prayers in separate rooms.
Then we went to the Burj Khalifa, it is the tallest building in the world. We went up to the 125th floor, it was very high we could see all of Dubai. Granddad was a bit scared and wouldn’t go near the edge.
It is very hot here and I am going swimming lots with my brother Reece
See you all soon, hope you all have a good half term.
Love Lara

We have done lots of wonderful things, been to lots of lovely places including beaches, parks & costal walks! I have seen my sister, brother-in-law & my little nephew, which is so exciting, as they have moved here & I haven’t seen them for a while!
The weather has been very good too, lots of very warm sunny days, perfect for barbecues & watching some amazing sunsets!
See you all school soon!
Mrs Rushton xx
Greetings England from Australia!
We are having a fantastic time here. We go to the beach lots, my favourite is Mullerloo where we swam with Daddy in the waves. I was nearly washed out! We miss all our friends and family!

Hello Squirrels class.
It is great here in Australia. I am playing with my cousin Noah lots. My brother Rio tried to talk to some parrots but they didn’t reply! I love Hillarys, the beach and harbour and have been swimming lots. Eloise was a bit afraid at first but we have learnt to be safe in the water and daddy has bought us some floats. Hopefully I will have a tan when I come home!
In Wales, we went to Caernarfon Castle. I made a medal. The castle was amazing.
We went to Chester Zoo, we saw giraffes, crocodiles, elephants, deers, a Komodo dragon and lions. My favourite animal was the lion.
I had a lovely time in Wales.
We have been learning how to be safe when we are using a computer or iPad or phone on the internet. We read the story of Smartie the Penguin . Click here to read the story with your child. Smart has problems with unknown messages ,pop ups and unsuitable games. He learns how to deal with the problems “You have to tell a grown up and ask them to help you “. We learnt a rhyme to help us remember and we have made a Smartie the penguin to take home. Hope you enjoy our video.
On Wednesday we went to London and we walked to Sealife Aquarium. It was amazing. I got a teddy seahorse.
After that we went to the Science Museum and learnt about energy.
On the next day, I went to @Bristol with Clark and Dylan. I loved it. At the end I bought a rock and a keyring.
On Saturday we went to see the festival of light at Longleat. It was very busy and we had to wait a long time to get in.
We went to the cafe first for a drink and cake. We walked around the lights my favourite was the dragon boat.
We saw Mrs Jeffery and Mrs James as we were going home. When we got home it was very late.
We went to Dubai for Christmas and saw real camels on the beach. On Christmas Eve we watched a show on The Walk at Jumeriah Beach. It was a really good show, there was lots of singing and dancing.
Father Christmas delivered presents to us on Christmas day.
On boxing day we went to the Dubai Aquarium. There was a really big fish tank with over 20,000 fish, we had to walk through a tunnel with sharks swimming over our heads.
We did lots of playing on the beach building sand castles and digging holes for my little brother to sit in.
It was nice and warm in Dubai but when we came home it was raining.
I loved the Christmas school dinner It was amazing.the best part was the cake.
I loved the party and I got a lovely present from Santa.
Hi berkley. Thailand is great fun and very hot. We are in the pool every day. We have a lovely villa surrounded by palm trees. Yesterday we saw a snake show and the man wound the snake round his head! A monkey landed on williams back and tried to steal his ice cream. We fly to australia tomorrow evening. See you all in the new year xx
After we gave mummy her present and cards on her birthday we went to Yanchep National Park. I saw loads of Kangaroos, real ones like about 10 or 20 or something. Some were babies called Joeys and sometimes I saw heads and sometimes I saw legs sticking out of the mum kangaroos pouches and I saw one daddy Kangaroo. We had a Barbeque in the park where the barbeques are already there and you are allowed to use them for free. I burned my fingers twice. I saw some baby ducks with the mum and dad and they did not like being close to people and 2 Koalas. Koalas don’t normally live in Perth because the food they eat does not grow here so they bring it to the Koalas from imports. I also had a chocolate caramel thing which was very nice. We came home later and went to bed.
hello,
here is my new baby sister,Ava she is very cute as you can see. In those pictures she is about a week old but now she is about a week and a few days. She was born with lots of hair and big blue eyes.
she was born on the 26Th of June on a friday because I woke up and went down stairs to have some bagels but on the way down I saw my grandma and jump I asked her what was going on and she said that mum was having the baby and I cried but a good cry. And that is my story of AVA! Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
I had a very long journey with Mrs Hirons going in a car, on a train, then on a coach and then finally an aeroplane. I had lots of sleeps on the plane and we watched lots of movies. Paddington Bear was my favourite and I had ice cream too. We could always see where we were flying on the screen and when we landed there was a camera under the plane to watch the wheels go down.
We went to Hong Kong first and it was very hot and rainy there. We then went to Australia. It was very exciting to go to School to get Jack and Ella and see lots of children. We have been to lots of beaches . We went whale and dolphin watching but we didn’t see any . This was at Byron Bay which is the most easterly point of Australia. We went to a place called Paradise point for lunch and when we came out there were about 30 Ferrari cars . I couldn’t choose my favourite.
We then went up the Q1 which is the tallest building on the Goldcoast . The views were amazing ! It has the fastest lift in Australia and you can watch a film of it going up and down while you are in it which is really weird.
We went for a walk in the bush to try and find some of my relatives . We haven’t seen any yet as I think they are hiding at the moment. We will keep kangaroo spotting.
I have been to football matches and netball matches with the children and Jack scored a goal and Ella’s team won 15-3 and she won girl of the match.
We are now off to stay in Brisbane for a few days and then going to Rockhampton where there is a crocodile park . I hope they feed them before I get there !
They are also filming Pirates of the Carribean here at the moment so we are hoping to go and see the film set and see the Pirates.
I hope you have lots of fun on your school trip to the castle and send me lots of questions and messages.
lots of love from
Mrs Hirons and Roo !

On Thursday we went to York to a Viking museum it smelt of vikings. We went to a farm called Big Sheep Little Cow on Friday, I held a mouse and a rat, I stroked a giant rabbit, a tortoise, a ferret and a chick. I brushed a pig then we fed the lambs milk in a bottle then Maddie’s lamb ran away!

First I went to Chichester I stayed in a Premier inn and then I went to see my Uncle and his girlfriend we had dinner in Prezzo. I had Pizza and a little bit of Maddie’s lasagne. The next day we went in HMS Victory in Portsmouth and we visited the Mary Rose. The Mary Rose sank and there was only half of it left. Then we went to the shops and after that we went to bowlplex.
On Wednesday I went to Preston with my two cousins and my auntie and we met a few people there. We had a sleepover and the next day we watched a pantomime called Peter Pan. It was funny because Tinkerbell got stuck when she was flying!

Have a lovely holiday everyone
I went to the pumpkin patch and went in the corn with Dolly, Bertie and baby Louis. I picked some cotton and went on the hay ride.
I went to Bristol Zoo today . Mum, Dad, Abi and I watched two Lions pacing about in there enclosure we also saw fruit bats hanging around. Then I spotted a red panda eating some apple and mango while staring at lots of people. At the Gorilla enclosure the were being fed FACT: Gorillas are vegetarian. Meerkats were busy digging in the sand so Abi and I climbed into the viewing domes to get really close to a baby one, he was so cute! We were walking past a bird cage and heard a hilarious voice say “HELLO” we turned round and saw a blue and green parrot named sky. Whenever we shouted “BYE” he would shout back “HELLO” . My day at Bristol Zoo was really cool and I hope all the animals stay well.
I went to Longrock which is in Cornwall. I went to a beach called Poldhu, I watched some people learn to surf and then the next day Mum, Dad , Abi and I learnt to surf. First we warmed up by running around the beach, we dived into the sea to get ourselves used to the water and get ourselves wet. Next we learnt about something called a riptide and safety in the sea. After that he told us how to kneel up and I did it first time. Finally are instructor Keith taught us how to stand up and it was quite easy for me because the third time I tried I stood up it was really cool to be able to surf and I would definately do it again.
The apple store trip was funny because on the way home everyone starting singing we played on garageband we had partners I was with Billy the apple store trip was brilliant and we might be able to go back in march but it felt like a short day a very short , short day but everthing was like lovely games today we got mini apple cupcakes
Well the season is coming to an end now with just one race left in Manchester at the weekend.
Mummy,Daddy and I would like to say a massive thank you to Mrs B. And all the teachers for supporting me with time off and to all my friends for your good luck messages.
So I arrived back from the world championships a little disappointed after I became Ill in holland and had to race with a headache, feeling sick and having a temperature, but had a great time and managed to get through to the 1/4 finals.
Since I have got back I have raced at the South West championships and finished 2nd. Well, Looking forward to manchester at the weekend and then to next season after a winter of lots of hard work.
I went camping with the Thomas’s , James’s and the Hirons. Last time we went together it was pouring with rain but this time it wasn’t as bad. One day we went to the beach but first we went on a big mountain of sand and after that it took us miles to find the beach but after a while we found it. Me ,Zoe, Abi and Elliot went in the sea because we had wetsuits. Yas had a wetsuit but she didn’t want to go in so she played with Polly and Wills with the kite. When we went back it was almost dark so we played on our bikes until we had to go to bed which was about 10pm.
I went to Wales in a caravan with my cousins. We played crazy golf but it was raining the first time we tried to play so we fitted it in another day. We went to Splash land, there were 3 slides one was called Master Blaster.
Then we went to Stratford upon Avon for two nights. We went swimming again, there was a hot tub that blowed bubbles.
On Thursday we went to Bristol to see Shrek. It was really good.
Here are some photos of my summer.
I’m so sad that I have to leave Berkley. I will miss everyone, mainly the teachers and staff. I will miss Mrs Langton loosing her glasses and Mrs Pang laughing and giggling. But I know that I need to move onto Selwood. It’s nothing like Berkley….
Good bye Berkley 🙂
On Wednesday we went to Cholderton Farm it was FAB!
First we went into our rooms and we had to put our sheets on the bed, put the duvet cover and pillow case on. I wasn’t too good at that but that’s just the boring part.
My group name was SPLAT. We would always meet outside the house and we would do sound off. We all had a number and I was number 10 so Iwould have to shout ‘TEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN’!!!!!! It was great fun.
When we where walking to our activities we would always sing certain songs. The leaders, Ellis, Kelly & Tom would say ‘it’s a repeat after me someone is it’ and we would say the same thing back and then they would begin singing the song we would have to repeat, we would do this all the way to the activity. For example, here is one of the songs, ‘I’m a little coconut lying on the coco ground, everybody steps on me that is why I’m a nut you see, I’m a nut I’m a nut I’m crazy I’m a nut I’m a nut I’m jazy. Called myself up on the phone just to see if I was home, got myself out on a date, I got a date at half past eight, got myself to the Butchers show, sat right down in the very front row, I’m a nut I’m a nut I’m crazy I’m a nut I’m a nut I’m jazy, I’M A NUT YOU’RE A NUT WE’RE ALLL CRAAZZYYYY’!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
For tea that night we got to choose weather we wanted fish cakes or chicken. I had fish cakes. My favourite activity was archery, it was really cool. We learned how to pull the arrow out of the ground. We played a game where you had to try and hit red, yellow or blue on a target. If you landed on red you were going to Australia, if you hit yellow you were going to both of the Disneylands’ and if you hit red you were going to Spain.
I had the best residential trip ever and I hope the year 3s have as much enjoyment out of it as we did!
First when we got there we set our tent up and me Yas, Zoe, Hattie and Elliot went to see the goats. Then the next day we went to the shop to buy some sweets and I bought a lolly pop .And after we went to the farm and we saw some peacocks and we saw five of them and we saw some wooly pigs .then there were some guinea pigs in a shed and rabbits then we went back to the campsite. On the Saturday we went on a steam train into Swanage, it was really fun with everyone. We went to the arcade and won lots of 2ps and lollipops. I played air hockey with daddy and I won. We played on the beach on Sunday and me and William made a pebble boat. Then we went for a lovely tea and I had the biggest burger in the world. We loved playing altogehter in our van and tents and we had cooked breakfast 2 mornings under Auntie Jan and Uncle Gary’s gazebo. On Monday morning we were sad because everyone else had to go home. We stayed 2 more nights as mummy and daddy didn’t have to work and went to Monkey World and we saw some apes and I bought a squirrel monkey that I will bring to show and tell on Friday. On Wednesday we made friends with a boy called Josh and we played in the park with him and we went on the see saw and the swings. We came home on Wednesday after going on a ferry across to Sandbanks where we had fish and chips and there was a massive park which was lots of fun. The best things about camping is that we all played games together and we helped eachother out and I can’t wait to do it again. Maddie
Last weekend me, my friends and my family went camping . It was in Dorset and we camped on Norden farm. While the parents put up the tents all the children played on there bikes and scooters also splashed in muddy puddles which i called the welly wash. That night for dinner we had Mrs Hirons lovely, homemade pulled pork. All the children got changed into their nightwear also every child had a head torch so we played with the head torches on so we could see. I had a tiring day today but it was a lovely day as well!
On Saturday we woke up and ate a lovely breakfast which included: eggs, sausages, beans, bacon and toast.Once everyone was dressed all the children cycled and scootered down to the little farm shop to buy some sweets. After that we had a lovely walk to Corfe Castle. Later that day we went to a beach and got an ice-cream I had dairy milk chocolate flavour. We went to the arcade and I won 3 lollies and a dragon ornament. I had a pasty for lunch. Mum and Ruth made us spaghetti bolognese for teatime.
When I woke up Sunday morning I had biscuits in bed. We tried to catch the bus but it was so full it didn’t stop. So we went on the train and played on Swanage beach in the sunshine. My dad and I made a dolphin with sand. We went on the train back to Corfe Castle and I had cod and chips for my tea. We could see the castle from the pub garden.
I had a fabulous weekend in my wellies with all my friends and mums and dads…
