This is my first blog on my new mini iPad that Santa bought me. I hope you all have a merry Christmas

It tasted the same as white cauliflower. It turned blue when we cooked it.My brother william didn’t try the cauliflower because he thought that he was going to get a blue  tongue.

The highlight of Badgers week was that we got to go to the Apple store in Bath. We were all very excited about getting to play with the ipads and the ipad minis.
The staff at the Apple store were very impressed by how many musical instruments we all can play and especially that we get taught two instruments at school. They think we are very lucky.
Our first treat was that we all got a bright yellow apple t-shirt that said ‘Fun is in session’ on the back! Miss P couldn’t wait to put her t-shirt on!

We got to make music in groups on an app called Garage Band, (that we are now going to have at school for continued use). There were so many different types of drums, violins, guitars and pianos to choose from and listen to and apply to our creations.
Kian, Leon and Hattie made music and what they love the most is that they can now play it on their computers as we all got given a USB with our very own original song on it.
Yasmin and Zoe created a track on Garage Band and they had a theme of trying to make it sound really really scary.
Charlie and Alex made a cool sound with the violins and added in other instruments to complement that particular sound.
Nate and Gracie-May took turns in adding music into their song which they both thought worked well.
Lily, Gracie-May and Amelia recorded their own original song called Moonlight, which you can find here on the website. It is very impressive.
Sam showed his talents well as he was able to recreate an Ollie Murs song on the keyboard! Whilst Kenny, added his own creative flare on top with other instruments, a great remix.
Toby and Jamie, created at least 3 songs, all very different as the showed just how whizzy children can be on technological equipment.

Miss P and Mrs Hirons took lots of pictures and videos of us creating music and having lots of fun! You can find a few on the website. Go have a look!

Also last week, we learnt a new song in French and it’s called Bonjour. Test us we are really good!
In maths we looked at Odds and Evens. We know that all numbers that end in 0,2,4,6,8 MUST be even and if it ends in 1,3,5,7,9 it MUST be odd. We also discovered that adding an odd and odd together it always makes an even number and adding an even and even together also makes an even number.
In literacy we looked at Antonyms which are words that have the opposite meaning.
We came up with loads these are a few of our favourites:
Kian suggested Bonjour and Au revoir!
Charlie suggested Gravity and Air Resistence
Polite to impolite (prefix)
Use and Useless (Suffix)
In Badgers we are a very clever class!

This week we are looking at Persuasive writing and are all become very good at persuading each other on just about anything even that a chocolate teapot is a good idea or that playtimes are a waste of time!!

1. Amelia had a sleep over at my house after Beau and Isaacs birthday party.
2. The next day me, Elliot, Amelia,mummy and Daddy went to Moors Valley.
3. We had lunch with really nice chips.
4. After ,we went on all the play trail things that we saw.
5. We went Tree climbing it was amazing.

Last week we started our new topic, Black and White. We all got to dress up in black and white, there were cats, witches, skeletons, cows, sheep, zebra, dog onsies, penguins, waiters and much more!
In class we had a brain storm about all the things we thought related to the black and white topic and we hope to find out more about some of our ideas over the coming weeks.

In art this week we learnt about silhouettes and created our own. Miss Pennington thinks they are all amazing and we cant wait for you to see them on parents evening.

In history we have started to learn about a very important man called Martin Luther King Jr. He wanted peace between black and white people across America and for everything to be equal and fair, including playing together as children, jobs, seats on buses and the right to vote. He did a very famous speech called ‘I have a dream’. We are looking forward to learning more about him as we think he is a very kind man and we couldnt understand why people didnt agree with him straight away.

As part of our homework last week we have all created a prayer each, and each week one poem will be chosen to be read out at the end of each day. This week Zoe’s prayer is being read out. It is about praying for the homeless to have food, water and the chance to learn like us.

In music we have all been working very hard on the Harvest songs and in English on our Harvest Poem. We cant wait to share it with you in Church this week.
We also got to play the violins and started to learn how to pluck the strings and they are called G D A E.

In French we continued with how to have a conversation, ask questions, how are you? and what is your name? Also we looked at colours and learnt Black and White in French which is Noir and Blanc. We have learnt up to 15 in French. This week we are going to learn up to 20!

As Badgers we are all working and playing hard and we cant wait to learn lots more.

This week we started to learn a new language, French. We all learnt how to say Hello, which is Bonjour, my name is… J’mappelle….
Goodbye is Au revoir and we learnt how are you. Which is ca va? And to answer you say ca va bien. If you feel good.
We are really excited to learn more French.. (Families you can test us at home!)
Charlie wants to find out about food.. and what are you cooking?
Kenny would like to learn the days of the week.
Hattie would like to learn how to say.. what are we doing today? And Alex added what work are we doing today?
Hopefully over the next few weeks and months we will become super duper french speakers!

This week we had recorders officially for the first time and we all learnt how to hold it and play the first note B. We now know that the squiggle at the beginning of a piece of music is called a Treble Clef and that it is on a row of lines called a Stave. We also had our first Violin lesson and we cant wait to start playing it properly next week!

In literacy we looked at alliteration which we all found fun to do. We just came up with the twisting, topped, tortoise made terribly, terrifying noises! Many of us then used alliteration in our Extended Writing task.
We looked at stories and wrote about a spooky, dusty ancient door that we all had a picture of. Some people wrote about the things that were behind the door.. others couldn’t get through the door and some told an adventure story of how they found the door and where it was.

In numeracy we have been looking at place value and all the children have been able to parition big 3 digit numbers into Hundreds Tens and Units. We have also started to learn the 3 times table and have promised Miss P to practise every evening for 2 minutes at least!

In art we have created a giant jigsaw with one piece created by each child to represented themselves and to show how we all fit together as a class.

Hello Badger fans,

We are back and want to share with you our first week in year3!

On Tuesday, we met our new teacher for year 3 for only the second time. Her name is Miss Pennington and she is lovely, we have had a wonderful first week with her.

Our classroom is completely different to how it was before the summer. It now has an interactive whiteboard, display walls, pegs for our coats, places for our lunch boxes and a visual daily routine chart.

We have a new child called Alex and everyone has made him very welcome. His favourite things are football and basketball. Alex says he really likes being in Badgers, as everyone is really nice.

Miss Pennington made us play a game with toilet paper on our first day!
We got to decorate our Maths books with all the numbers that are important to us. We have all been practising our handwriting after our long summer, which is a little tricky to get back into.

We have learnt a fun word game called Boggle, it is where you have 16 letters and you make as many words as you can. We also then share our words with others. We challenge ourselves to find 6 or 7 letter words.

We have also been playing word games with that involve VCOP, which stands for

Mrs Randell came in and chatted to us about starting to play the recorder. We are all extremely excited to learn a new instrument.

Our first extended writing was about a picture of a beautiful tulip field, Toby said that the clouds looked like candy floss. WOW descriptive words used.

On Friday we got to do P.E with Mr Groves, we did lots of multi skill games including: grapes, treasure and sticky bits.

In golden time we had it in Owls class, we played lots of games. Hattie played Guess Who with Yasmin, Gracie and Lily, it was really good fun.

We are looking forward to the the new week.

On Friday I went to Sophie’s  house . The first thing we did was watch T.V. We watched Tom and Jerry. Then we had lunch, we had pasta. Then we went in Sophie’s big pool it’s as big as my front room! We played pairs in the water, there was a picture of an animal from under the sea and we pick one up and try and find the other one. Then we played try and get round the whole circle without breathing that was fun .Then we got out and got our clothes on. Teddy Sophie’s cat  brought in a lizard, we tried to get him in the box and it took a long time but we got her in. Her name was Lizzie Sophie Issy  Lauren Ford. We looked at her and some of her tail had come off but that doesn’t matter because when they’re babyies their tails come off and they grow back. I took it home it was very smelly because she had done a poo in the box! I didn’t  want to get it out of the box because it was too smelly so mum did it.

That was an exciting day.

Me,Holly,Bethany,Sophie,Issy and Mary went to a gymnastics competition at Millfield we had to do the vault and a floor routine (Key steps 2).We all got judged on everything we did.There was 140 gymnasts there (around about that anyway).

All the gymnasts there in their teams got split up into groups of about 6 schools to announce the winners.There was lots of suspense. ” ……..And in third place for the floor routine are from Berkley…….Maddie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”   I couldn’t believe it I got a Bronze medal for the routine!

After a few minutes “……This is for all the scores from your teams,vault and the routine in third place is……….BERKLEY!!!!!!!!!”

I was amazed going up together, I mean we were only a team of 6 ,other people had way more in their team!

After that I came home with 2 Bronze medals! It was amazing.

On sunday  Kayleigh came to our house for a sleep over. Our friends said they were getting some of the things ready. So we put our wellys on and got in the car. When we got there we saw our friends. Then we started the MASSIVE walk .We walked up a really big hill. My dad wanted to climb a pyramid were the people stand to sing their songs. When we got to the pyramid we got to go on the pyramid and dad sang us a song it was really funny. We walked some more we let there dog Henry of the lead we had to find a pirate ship me and Ben were first to find it. Then we found another castle to play in. Then e were so tired and we walked

On Thursdays Izzy comes round. Because we have a club. She has tea at ours it’s really fun. When the club is finished Izzy’s mum or dad takes us home. When she’s at ours we have dance shows and we practise some dances.  Rudy and mum watch us we have really good fun.

I like it  and so does Izzy

On Wednesday George came round. When we first came back we waited for George’s mum to drop George here . Then we watched some Horrid Henrys. Then we had tea, it was chicken, vegetables and chips. After tea we played on the Wii. First we played Mario winter Olympics, we were 1st 5 or 6 times! Then we played Mario carts, we were 1st 2 times, that was much harder! My  mum brought some yummy ice cream it was nice, it had chocolate caramel and marshmallows in it. Then George’s dad came to pick him up at 6pm. We hid under my brothers bunk beds behind the shoe drawer which was a great hiding place, they found us though.

When it was the 20 of April I was a mascot for the frome town men and we had to hold their sweaty hands and then we had to shake their sweaty hands. The goalkeepers gloves were all spongy and when they wre training they spit on their gloves. We went to wash are hands because they were that sweaty I said `yuck’ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS FUN

On the 7th April I went to my first moto cross race it was really fun.  I had to get up at half past six. We went to pick some of my dad’s friends because they were coming.  Then we got in the van and set off.  We had to travel all the way to Southhampton I had a sleep in the van so it wasn’t too bad.

When we got there I got out and had a cookie it was a chocolate one I was winding my dad up with it. Then we had to get my bike checked to see if it was okay to race, my motorbike was alright thankfully.  While we were waiting I had another cookie I couden’t wind my dad up this time because he had one.

Then it was time for the race. My racing number is no. 22.   My dad was worrried I would hurt myself,  I wasn’t, I was excited.  A race was on before me so I watched how it was done I got more and more excited my dad got even more worried.  Then it was my turn I went and got my bike and went to the starting line the gates wern’t up yet because not everybody had gone round.  Then the green flag went up that means it was all clear. you had to look up at the man because he was going to hold up a 10 second sign then a 5 second one.  When it went five you had to look at your gate and it could drop any time then.  The gate dropped I zoomed away the first thing I did was go over the handle bars.  I was sceaming not because I was hurt but because I wanted to get back on my bike.  I did get back on and then it countinued.  That that was my day – I did 3 races and I got rider of the day.   I get to do it all again in a weeks time – I cant’t wait!

On the 29th of March I had a birthday party. Sophie, Holly, Maddie, Ruby, Kayleigh, Aimee and IzzyN came It was a pampering party.

We had our finger nails and toe nails painted. The lady did 180 nails altogether! Another lady came to do our hair. Most of us had 2 french plaits and Maddie and Kayleigh had high pony tails curled. We danced to 1Direction songs. That was fun.

I gave out menus when we were at school.They had to give them back to me when they had chosen and ticked what they wanted. Mum made us each our chosen main, desert and drink. It was delicious.

After we had tea we put some Michael Morpurgo books out and each guest got to choose which one they wanted.  I chose first and decided on ‘An Elephant in the Garden’ (elephants are my favourite animals).

We played a dancing game on the Wii. Whenever somone wanted they joined in on the dance, eventually it was just me, Izzy, Sophie and Holly so we carried on dancing it was the best day ever!

In two weeks time I’m  going to be in a real moto cross race.  I can’t wait I’m so excited.  I applied for my racing  licence last night – I am waiting for my racing number to come through.

On Sunday the 3rd of march my friend Kayleigh came round to play. First we went up to my room then we went back downstairs for a drink. Next we played bingo Kayleigh won.

After that we played cat walks Kayleigh was the person who gets everything ready then we went on the wii on Just dance 4 . Then we had to pick up Samuel my brother from football

After that we dropped off  Kayleigh.

My dad  brought gangman style on the wii  with  our wii  points.One of my big brothers loves gangman style. He  does the dance in front of the tv when your all settled and cumfy. So he  was  the first to have a go. But when i  started to join in  he pushed me out the way. So girls just to warn you do not want a brother. But its even werse  for me because i have got two brothers . GO GANGMAN STYLE.

Today is the bath half marathon and my brother is running it . Me and my mum also my dad and my other brother are watching him. At the run we are meeting some friends also my big sister. My big brother did really well and he got 1:25:19 and that was amazing. Then at the end my mum and big sister went to get some tea. And then we all got in the car and went home. And my big sister is staying for a night.

One day Sophie came round she bought tatoos and we put them on our bellys and head and cheek that was fun.After that we went outside and played on the trampleen and clome the tallest tree I have but we don’t go very high. Next we went in and Sophie and Holly bought a wii game called Rio you were a bird and you had to get the monkeys.They bought a box and I wanted to know what was in it but my my mum woudn’t let me see until the boys had finished but when she went into the other room so me and soph went to have a look we stoll one they were homade choclate brownies they were dilishes we Kept on having some then my mum spoted us.

Its always great having Sophie and Holly round.

Yesterday I went to issy’s house for tea we played wrestiling. issy and henry were on one side and rudy and me on the other side . for tea we had chiken and after tea it was time for me an issy to get ready or beavers so we got ready for beavers and went to beavers. me and issy made musicall istrumants out of pringle tubes and shoe  boxes . it was real fun then wee were doing the badges and I got my highest badge you can get then my mum took us home we dropped issy off  and went home .

My frend has got a dog . She got it a few weeks ago. His name is Ollie and he is a puppy.She got him from a dogs hone.He looks like a calf,but he has not got long legs.

Next weekend it will be my party. I am having a sleep over  Liam and Luis are coming to stay we are going to get up erlay and have a Nerf gun fight and go to bed at 6.00 in the morning

my tree is so big.it is so big we had to chop it down.there is a big pile of branches and twigs and it nily filled the gardon down and me and my bruther got soking wet.

At assembly I got a certificate for swimming. I did grade three it was hard work.

At beavers me and Cody and my other friends there  play football matches and the team that wins they get a medal each.

We are playing on saturday what is the 2nd of march and it is at wedmore  We are playing against frome town youth at 11 o’clock  !!!!!!!!!

Its my brothers birthday today ! Unfotunly he got a nerf gun and 38 bullets plus he can shoot 2 or 1 bullets at the same time! he got a packet of mini eggs with a pound coin stuck on it and because we uselly get something we got a pack too! But it didnt have a pound coin on it.

On saturday I went to the beach.We bought 3 balls and bucket and spade.It was a sunny day we bought some icecreams mine had a flake out the top.We walked across the beach and we played tag.We went into a giant fair thing inside . Me and Henry went on this thing where you get onto a swing thing and then it goes up and your really high and  you go round in circles when you go over the fence thay was really scary.We got a free ticket and we get 5 or more goes on what ever ride you want.We went on a helterscelter. There were 2 you could choose and  1 slide. I went on the red one. They werent very fast there was a go cart game but we was not aloud to but it was fun watching anyway.We went onto the beach again we walked past a train.

My cat Teddy is so cute.If you see her you would want to cuddle her. Some times teddy is very norty .Like when she scraches the  sofa and jumps on the other cats.  Some times we think she is just playing but she is so frisky and the other cats dont like it.

I’ve  got a new kitten called  mila  she is very crazy
